Efficient fulfilment of customer orders is key for customer satisfaction and businesses may use a single or multiple couriers to deliver items. However, rekeying information into courier software can be a laborious process and can lead to mistakes such as incorrect deliveries. Adding to the difficulties of despatch management, courier service providers have been known to alter or withdraw services from time to time and replace them with new services. One such example of this which is currently causing headaches for businesses across the country is Royal Mail withdrawing support for their popular Despatch Manager Online (DMO) service this year. Existing DMO users are being encouraged to switch to an alternative such as Royal Mail’s Click & Drop solution, however businesses should ensure that their back end systems are able to send delivery details over to this new service if they wish to keep order fulfilment streamlined, cost-effective and free of the need for time-consuming manual data transfer.
OrderWise Courier Integration provides an effective solution by automatically generating consignment numbers based on despatch history, passing this information directly to courier software and recording these details against the relevant transactions. This streamlined process provides accurate, clearly visible information and vastly improves despatch efficiency. For companies selling via online channels such as an OrderWise Website or third party websites and marketplaces integrated with OrderWise, there are further benefits to be gained from our Courier Integration functionality. Consignment and tracking information can be passed back to the online channel to provide customers with full despatch visibility and high service levels.
Although OrderWise already boasts integrations with an extensive range of over 40 courier services, new integration has been added in version 18.2 of OrderWise to support businesses who make the switch over to Royal Mail Click & Drop. This is a direct feed integration with the service, ensuring that businesses can continue to provide fast, efficient fulfilment of customer orders once they move over from Royal Mail DMO.
Through saving time and reducing errors, this new functionality ensures order handling capabilities can be maintained and customer satisfaction can be enhanced through the fast and accurate fulfilment of orders.
