10 reasons to adopt handheld technology
Whilst the last two years have been challenging for most...
Technological developments have meant that consumer purchasing behaviour has changed greatly in recent years, with a real desire for greater interaction with brands across various platforms. Driving this are services such as click and collect, which are being increasingly utilised by consumers who want the benefit of online purchasing together with the convenience of local collection and returns facilities.
With this increase in purchasing across multiple platforms, it is important for businesses to both maximise multi-channel trading opportunities and ensure a connected approach across the various channels available, both online and in-store. Therefore, businesses should strive to meet both the in-store purchasing and click & collect demands of today’s consumers in order to help them maintain and improve customer loyalty. A failure to keep pace and deliver the flexibility to accommodate these changing demands will ultimately lead to customers choosing competitors and cause a loss of business.
The recently launched OrderWise Store EPOS module already provides businesses with comprehensive and intuitive in-store functionality and this month sees the addition of the ability to process click and collect orders.
These click and collect orders will be determined when importing sales orders via OrderWise eCommerce sessions. When an order is marked as click and collect and has a store related to it, the items will be automatically booked out of stock. The order will then appear in the relevant store’s EPOS system and an EPOS user can reserve the stock for the customer, marking the order as ‘ready for collection’. Upon the order being collected, a final receipt will be printed and stock automatically decremented.
This latest enhancement to the OrderWise Store EPOS module allows businesses to cater for a popular and growing customer method, providing customers with a flexible cross-platform shopping experience.
Having the right functionality within a till system is obviously the most important thing for any store trader, however having the flexibility to customise the layout of this to meet their own individual needs and branding can also be an essential for many companies.
Therefore, as well as the new Click & Collect service management tool, the latest release of OrderWise also sees another new feature added to the Store EPOS system to allow companies to style it up as they wish. A new treeview node in OrderWise allows the setup of theme templates to adjust the appearance inside EPOS. This new feature allows a user to change the colour, icons and login images displayed, so that the till interface can be customised to the company’s individual branding.
With these two new additions to OrderWise Store EPOS, businesses have added flexibility that allows them to tailor the user interface to meet their own requirements and also offer efficient handling of click & collect orders. By having these options available, companies using OrderWise Store EPOS are able to deliver improved service to their customers.
